NUM AND ELIJAH BARAYI MEMORIAL TRAINING CENTRE TO HOLD THE 8TH ANNUAL GRADUATION SHOP STEWARDS CEREMONY ON FRIDAY


The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and its college the Elijah Barayi Memorial Training Centre (EBMTC) will be hosting the 8th Annual Graduation Ceremony of the NUM Shop Stewards and Leadership at its Centre in Midrand. Thirty one NUM members will be graduating in Trade Union Practice which is South African Qualification Accredited Course.

EBMTC is an accredited training institution established by the NUM for the purpose of developing its members in mining, energy, and construction.

“Since 1993, the Partnership between NUM and EBMTC has been consistent in uplifting the skills of the working class,” said Mercy Sekano, the Executive Director of EBMTC. “The commitment on Education and Training by the NUM resulted in the Union becoming the powerhouse of the working class.” Mr. Sekano added.

The graduation ceremony will take place as follows:
o Date: 24 May 2019 – Graduation Ceremony
o Venue: EBMTC Mandela Hall, 127 New Road, Grand Central, Midrand.
