The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) can confirm that its 500 members at ASA Dikolong mine near Burgersfort in Limpopo had downed tools and are still underground since Thursday last week. “More than 500 members of the NUM are still underground since the 22nd of October 2015. We call on the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) to intervene and save the lives of our members,” said Joseph Montisetsi, NUM Deputy President.The NUM members are demanding the following:
