40th anniversary celebration presidential networking session tonight
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) will tonight host a Presidential Networking Session, a panel discussion about the history of this mighty NUM. The discussion will be facilitated by Cathy Mohlahlana, an award-winning broadcast journalist and senior news anchor for the 24 hour news channel, Newzroom Afrika.
Former NUM leaders and officials who contributed in the formation of this mighty union, including former NUM President comrade Senzeni Zokwana and former NUM General Secretary comrade Gwede Mantashe will participate in the panel discussion. Guests will be welcomed by the executive mayor of Polokwane comrade John Mpe.
The NUM will be celebrating the event with its thousands of its members from across the 11 regions in the country on Saturday, 03 December 2022 at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Limpopo Premier comrade Stanley Mathabatha will welcome the crowd at the stadium.
The theme of the celebration is “NUM, The Shield and Spear that Defend Mine, Energy, Construction and Metal Workers. The Weapon Used to Fight Capitalism” .

The celebration is schedule as follows!
We will start tonight with NUM Presidential Dinner planned to start at 18h00 at Meropa Casino.
We will have a panel of discussion reflecting on the history of NUM, consisting of former leaders and officials who contributed to the formation of the mighty union.
We will continue with celebration to Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday the 03/12/22. We are expecting NUM members across the 11 Regions of the NUM to come in thousands and thousands to celebrate this milestone.
