The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) congratulates the Mineworkers Investment Company (MIC) for having been crowned the Best Established Black Business as well as for taking the lead in Corporate Social Responsibility by Black Business Quarterly (BBQ), South Africa‘s premier black business publication. “We pride ourselves on this significant achievement on behalf of the downtrodden mine, energy and construction workers” says Frans Baleni, the NUM General Secretary and chairperson of Mineworkers Investment Company.

The Mineworkers Investment Company was established in 1995 by the Mineworkers Investment Trust (MIT) to create a sustainable asset base for the benefit of mine, energy and construction workers and today has assets of over ten billion (R10 billion).
