Gold producers offer pittance or insulting wage increases
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has noted the pittance or insulting wage offers from the gold producers tabled today. They had offered annual wage increases of up to R550 to miners and up to 4.5 percent for artisans, miners, and officials. These wage offers are not even close to what our members are demanding. The gold producers have been very arrogant in their approach to this wage negotiations to the extent that their offer on the table smacks of insults and arrogance.

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has noted the latest offer from Eskom. There are two options that Eskom presented to the unions which are options A and B. The NUM is taking the latest offer back to its members to give us a mandate as to whether they accept or reject the offer. Eskom is proposing a three-year wage agreement.

NUM Kwazulu-Natal region is concerned  about developments at Richards Bay Minerals
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) in KwaZulu Natal is extremely concerned about unfortunate developments happening at Richards Bay Minerals. NUM and SACP joint march to Eskom, BIBC and the Department of Labour
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and the South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Western Cape will jointly march to Eskom, Building Industry Bargaining Council (BIBC) and the Department of Labour. Eskom will receive the memorandum at the regional offices and management of both the BIBC and the Department of Labour will receive the memorandum at the BIBC building.

The National Union of Mineworkers was founded in 1982.

Its birth was facilitated by comrades Cyril Ramaphosa who rose to be its first General Secretary, James Motlatsi who turned to be its first President, and Elijah Barayi who became its Vice President and later the President of Cosatu in 1985 when the federation was formed. porn
