The NUM to hold a press conference tomorrow
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) will hold a press conference tomorrow (Wednesday) at its headquarters in Johannesburg. The press conference is about the issue of IPPs and the decision taken by Eskom to close down five power stations. The press conference will be addressed by the NUM leadership.

The NUM has noted with disappointment media reports on the pending shareholder's approval of the "hedging arrangements" of Khumo's DRD Gold shares, the Mining Right Holder (DRD Gold) backs this as long as it does not "encroach its current BEE status" according to the company statement.

The NUM Women Structure Back to school Advocacy campaign (2017)’s focus is on the provision of “SANITARY TOWELS” for Young Girls. The NUM interest in education and addressing women issues is unquestionable. This can be attested by the education support efforts through the NUM JB Marks Bursary Fund provided to children of NUM members, including those of staff members.

The National Union of Mineworkers National Women's Structure (NUM-WS) is deeply saddened by the outrageous and unfounded attack by the African National Congress Women's League  (ANCWL) on COSATU CEC and the leadership collective of all the federations affiliates. This all happens when 17 million South Africans social grant beneficiaries (majority which are women and children) are facing a hopeless and bleak upcoming reality of not being able to revise their only source of income next month.

The National Union of Mineworkers was founded in 1982.

Its birth was facilitated by comrades Cyril Ramaphosa who rose to be its first General Secretary, James Motlatsi who turned to be its first President, and Elijah Barayi who became its Vice President and later the President of Cosatu in 1985 when the federation was formed. porn
