NUM Press Statement, 20 September 2017

NUM Youth Structure supports the upcoming Cosatu National Strike.

The National Union of Mineworkers Youth Structure (NUM-YS) stands to support the planned COSATU national strike that will take place on the 27 September 2017 across the country.

We support the call of a fight against job losses in particular in the private sector, labour brokering, state capture and continuous corruption in our beloved country.

This action will be a history in making as workers from different sectors and provinces will be united on fundamental issues that are affecting workers

We call upon all young workers from different workplaces or plants to put down tools on the day and support the national strike on the 27th September 2017.

Let us come out in our numbers from different provinces and fight for a better country tomorrow

NUM-YS stands to condemn all dirty plans or tricks played by some groupings that are planning to damage image of comrade Cyril Ramaphosa as we are going to the upcoming ANC elective conference in December...Hands off comrade Cyril Ramaphosa hands off.

About Us
The National Union of Mineworkers was founded in 1982.

Its birth was facilitated by comrades Cyril Ramaphosa who rose to be its first General Secretary, James Motlatsi who turned to be its first President, and Elijah Barayi who became its Vice President and later the President of Cosatu in 1985 when the federation was formed. porn
